Whilst there is no announcement that Dark Souls 3 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch, a small team at FromSoftware have a version of the game running on Nintendo’s upcoming console, according to sources close to Lets Play Video Games.
The performance is said to be satisfactory and whilst Darks Souls 3 was not a demanding title for the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, it is a good sign for the overall capabilities for the Nintendo Switch, with many concerned the console will be underpowered compared to the competition.
Reportedly, the performance of Dark Souls 3 on the Nintendo Switch has prompted internal discussions at From Software as to the potential of porting over the Dark Souls trilogy to the console, with DLC bundled in.
The source goes on to add that FromSoftware are waiting to assess the sales performance of the Nintendo Switch before considering porting over any games to Nintendo’s new console.
If approved, the plan will be to launch a Game of the Year edition of the Dark Souls 3 on all platforms.
