Nordic Games have acquired the THQ trademark, a representative has confirmed to Polygon.
Klemens Kruezer, General Manager, revealed the company acquired the trademark and will publish games under the THQ banner.
Previously the company purchased parts of the THQ catalog in a 2013 auction, including the Darksiders series, when THQ filed for bankruptcy and closed.
“It was kind of a surprise to some industry veterans and players that we were the winner of the auction of the THQ titles,” said Klemens.
“The challenging fact is nobody has ever heard about Nordic Games before [the THQ auction]. There were so many articles with headlines ‘Who the f**k is Nordic Games?’ We said, okay they were right.
“We have seen an uplift in the name of Nordic Games, and what we have also done is we have made a second deal with THQ where we bought the THQ trademark.”
Klemens also requested “more patience” from Darksiders fans regarding a next installment and said more announcements will come at Gamescom in August.
